Now available in Australia, the new range of digital MotorGuide motors makes use of digital technology, and with it comes improvement in variable speed trolling motor performance, reliability, capability and serviceability.
MotorGuide digital models now make trolling even easier, offering a longer life, and unmatched reliability with sonar interference almost eliminated. The digital module is fully protected from the elements, runs cooler and longer, sustains battery life for more fishing time, and has a 3 year limited warranty
These improvements have been tried and tested in the 2004 AFC Series with both Team Savage and Team Mercury boats equipped with 82-pound Saltwater Series digital models.
The new MotorGuide Digital System called Digital Guardian in its variable speed models replace the conventional Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) analog controller systems. Analog systems, long the norm for variable speed motors, are susceptible to problems because of the electrical complexity of analog dynamics. However, MotorGuide’s system uses digital clearer and crisper analysis and control of signals. It also does without many of the wires, transistors and high-current switches responsible for most motor failure and sonar interference issues.
The MotorGuide Digital control module is totally encapsulated in a waterproof epoxy pod, protected from all elements by being placed in the trolling motor’s lower unit. Its location directly next to the motor’s high-current transistors provides maximum energy efficiency and a more consistent current flow. That means a more efficient and reliable trolling motor, and a longer motor life. |
