Hush Little Stabi…
Enquiries: Stabi-Craft Marine (03) 211 1828.

Stabi-Craft Marine has taken onboard a new Kiwi innovation to further improve the comfort factor of its aluminium alloy boats. Vibra-Stop products, designed to reduce vibration through the hull, will be standard issue for all new models over 5.5 m.

Noise, vibration, harshness — commonly referred to as NVH — has traditionally been accepted by people owning alloy boats. Some manufacturers have gone to the trouble of foam-filling their hulls, which does improve noise levels, however, it does not take away the vibration and the harshness factor. With the Vibra-Stop systems and the modern technology in outboard engines, it is now possible to have a near vibration-free alloy boat.

The Vibra-Stop kit effectively insulates the outboard engine from the hull, forming a flexible mount that dissipates vibration instead of transferring it to the boat.

Honda Horsepower Upgrade
Enquiries: Honda Marine (03) 9270 1111. www.hondamarine.com.au

Honda has enhanced the BF175, BF200 and BF225 outboards for greater performance, efficiency and aesthetic appeal.

Through the use of a revised Electronic Control Unit (ECU) featuring an air feedback sensor and Honda's industry exclusive Lean Burn Feedback System, fuel consumption in the new models is reduced by 5 per cent over the previous range.

The upgraded Honda range offers a 14 per cent improvement in fuel consumption against 2 stroke Direct Injection (DI) counterparts, and 10 per cent better performance than competing 4 stroke models.

In other improvements to the BF175, BF200 and BF225 models, the gearshift control has been fine-tuned by expanding the 'neutral zone'. This provides a smoother gear shift between neutral, forward and reverse at speeds below 1000 rpm.

The adoption of a new throttle cam also aids throttle response in low-speed range, while patented non-linear rubber mounts provide smoother operation at all speeds.

The BF175, BF200 and BF225 all feature a 3.5 L, 24 valve V6 SOHC engine, providing smooth power and torque under all conditions, while Multi-Point Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) delivers optimum fuel/air mix to each cylinder for easy starting, instant throttle response and low fuel consumption.
