| Description |
Darwin is a modern, bustling
city of approximately 90,000 people. It is the northern most
capital city in Australia and due to it's close proximity to
South East Asia, it has a multicultural population. With a new
international airport which sees daily flights from southern
Australian capitals as well as Singapore, it is a good entry
point to the best barramundi fishing spots in Australia, as
well as many remote locations for bluewater fishing such as
Cape Don, Vanderlin Island and Dundee Beach. |

As well as fish available in
outlying areas, Darwin harbour often provides good fishing for
the following species: barramundi, golden snapper, black jewfish,
pikey bream, threadfin salmon, queenfish and Spanish mackeral.
Black marlin can be caught off Bathurst Island, within 100 km
of Darwin and nearby lagoons and rivers have some of the best
barramundi fishing in Australia. |
