Arnhem Land is a large area
of Aboriginal land very sparsely populated, which covers most
of the north and east coasts of the Northern Territory. Permits
are needed to enter Arnhem Land. Limited access and remoteness
ensures fish populations are relatively untouched. |

Barramundi and saratoga in
the rivers and lagoons, reef fish including coral trout, golden
snapper and giant trevally and pelagics such as Spanish mackerel
and queenfish in coastal waters as well as mangrove jack. |

Fishing is generally good all
year round though access is not possible during the wet season
from January to March. |
