ARB 4x4 Accessories have released a range of deluxe bull bars to suit Nissan GU Patrol wagons from late 2004 onwards.

Specifically designed to complement the new-look Patrol, ARB's deluxe bars provide serious vehicle protection. Each bar employs many of the trademark ARB safety features, from the unique SRS sliding mounting system, which protects air bag functionality, to the split pan design that improves structural strength while facilitating airflow to the engine.

ARB's new deluxe bars also have provision for the fitting of a range of practical 4WD accessories. They are built to withstand the strains of winching and can accommodate both Warn and Magnum winch models. The bars also incorporate Hi-Lift jacking points to assist with vehicle recovery, and come with CB antenna brackets as standard. IPF fog lights can also be fitted in the recessed area of the bar's wings.

Finished in a durable satin black powder coat, the bar can also be colour coded.

ARB TOURING GEAR

ARB has released a new range of products - rooftop tents, a vehicle-mounted awning and purpose-designed roof rack - under the ARB Touring label.

Mounted to the roof of a vehicle and unfolding in minutes, a rooftop tent provides off the ground sleeping quarters. ARB currently has two Touring models available - the quick and simple Pilbara and the deluxe Simpson model, which has a pull out verandah section and annexe option.

Manufactured from high quality 13 oz rip stop Polyamide milspec canvas, the rooftop tents are waterproof and mould resistant, and incorporate a nylon flysheet, raised above each end opening with aluminium rods, an insect net and a zippered canvas flap. Both have a large sleeping area (1400 mm W x 2400 mm L x 1300 mm H) and a 65 mm high-density foam mattress. A sturdy, telescopic, anodised aluminium ladder is used to assemble the tent and can be folded in half and suspended under the base of the tent when not in use.

Along with the rooftop tent is a new Touring awning. Easy to mount and operate, this retractable awning fits onto the side of a roof rack, and is conveniently stored in an aluminium cylinder.

Designed for harsh outback conditions, the awning is rugged, but light in weight. The shade cover is made from PVC-coated polyester and provides total UV protection while being completely waterproof. The arms, legs and beam are all made from sturdy, lightweight duralum alloy, and the awning height can be adjusted using the telescopic legs.

To mount these accessories, the new purpose-built Touring rack cage is manufactured to the same high quality as ARB's standard roof racks, but incorporates a flat section for the rooftop tent, while still allowing for gear to be stored in the front part. Coming in a durable, millennium grey powder coat, the rack is available in 2 sizes to fit a wide range of vehicles.

HALCO ROOSTA 105

Halco has released a baby brother to its popular 135 mm Roosta Popper - the 105 mm Roosta.

The 105 is of an extremely versatile size and is an exceptional blooping lure, with remarkable straight retrieve performance.

Rear weighting ensures that the lure sits tail-down upon splashdown. As the angler provides a nudge or rip of the rod tip, the cupped face is positioned for a positive response - a strike triggering gurgle with lots of bubbles.

When speed is required - important for fish like tailor, trevally and salmon -a subtle planing surface takes over. As the lure comes up 'on the plane' different rod tip heights dictate the action. A low tip creates less splashing and a significant bubble trail. A medium height rod tip will create a classic splashing popper action, while a high tip will allow the popper to skitter across the surface.

Weighing 30 g and armed with Halco's super strong Fish Rings and Mustad hooks, this Australian made lure is ready for some serious action.
