Interphase’s iScan V90 Forward Looking Sonar
Forward-looking sonar has a number of features that make life on the water even easier. Check out the latest from Interphase — the iScan V90. Interphase’s new iScan V90 Forward Looking Sonar is based on proven phased-array technology, and is the ideal navigation aid for sportfishers and other types of recreational and light commercial vessels that want to ‘see what’s ahead’. With its sweeping vertical scan, the Interphase iScan V90 continuously updates the sunlight-viewable, panoramic colour display to show changing water depths, reefs, bottom structure, bait schools and fish. The applications for this technology are wide ranging. Whether it’s cruising along the edge of the Great Barrier Reef looking for channels in and out of the coral, or cautiously navigating an unfamiliar inlet, harbour or anchorage at night, the iScan V90 Forward Looking Sonar will make life easy. For anglers targeting marlin and other pelagic species, it’s perfect for finding and tracking schools of bait and their predators. Finding a bait school again after moving off to fight a fish is very easy. Forget about wasting time sounding around the general area of the waypoint in the hope of coming across the school again — the school will have most likely moved, but this technology will help you find it again so you spend more time fishing. Its small, easy-to-install transducer uses no moving parts and steers a 12 degree acoustic beam in a vertical plane from the surface ahead up to 360 m and down to 180 m below. Designed for easy integration with onboard systems and future expandability, the iSCAN V90 comes packaged in a compact, waterproof case that can be either flush-mounted or installed using the quick-disconnect bracket. Interphase products are available in Australia through Coursemaster Autopilots dealers nationally.
