| MAKOCRAFT BOATS
It's not often that an all-new boat brand comes off the blocks with boats that are, straight off, some of the best laid-out fishing boats on the market. Enter Makocraft — an all-new aluminium boat marque coming to us with a comprehensive range of hulls including everything from simple cartopper barra punt and dinghies starting at 3.05 m, up to 6 m plus plate construction offshore rigs. In plate, in 5.3, 5.6 and 6.1 m hulls Makocraft offer centre consoles, half cabs (in 5.6 and 6.1 m only), and a hybrid cuddy cab/runabout called the 'Canyon Runner' with a moulded deck. Then there are 4.4, 4.7, 5 m and 5.3 m heavy duty plate construction dinghies called 'Max Truck HDs', 4.8. 5.3 and 6.1 m bowriders called 'Sun Riders', and 4.2, 4.5 and 4.8 metre runabouts called 'Bay Trackers.' Finally, there are the boats pictured here — the Estuary Trackers. These come in 2 versions — the 3.8, 4.2 and 4.4 m 'Tournament' series featuring bow and stern casting decks with tiller steer and pedestal seating. And then there's the 'Tournament SC' series in 4.8 and 5.2 m lengths with the whole box and dice including a side console, a built-in ice box, a 100 l tournament type live well, and a 9’ rod locker along the port side. If the new Makocraft boats pictured look somehow familiar, that's probably because Makocraft belongs to Tim Stessl and his sister, Nicola. The hulls are Alf Stessl designs, while Tim does the interiors. In short, when Alf retired from his well-known Stessl company, Tim and Nicola decided they'd start afresh with their own company and thereby we have Makocraft.
